If you are looking for an english speaking provider in Japan, give Sakura Mobile a chance! Also a good choice for a SIM card!

Chihiro was really helpful and helped sort us out with a physical sim card when the esim we purchased on Klook wouldn't work in our device.

Affordable and convenient. Especially, for tourists visiting Japan. English service available and they usually respond very quickly. You can pick up your SIM card at the airport. Highly recommend!

[Poco X3 Pro] Osaka, KIX. Perfect service, good price. Unlimited data, fine coverage in all Japan, even on Koya mountain Koyasan. Helpful and nice crew at the airport desk. Communication was not problem even in English. Easy to find and they make the phone adjustment according to your requests in 2 minutes. Online pre-ordered physical SIM was already there. Perfect option for not e-SIM compatible phone users!

Really easy to set the sim up and clear English speaking (from a lady called Jessica) which just made everything so much easier.

Everything went great from picking up my eSIM at the airport to the customer service helping me activate it. The signal coverage in Osaka was excellent. I’m very grateful that I chose Sakura Mobile. Their customer service is outstanding and they replied to me ASAP. Overall, Sakura Mobile is a great mobile service provider in the region. I would definitely recommend it to my friends and colleagues who are traveling to Japan.

I have used the Sakura Pocket Wifi solution for the second time for a longer stay in Japan and was once again 100% satisfied:
- The delivery time and location (my hotel) worked perfectly.
- The device was ready to use in about 30 seconds and worked flawlessly throughout the entire three-week period.
- The availability of the service was excellent.
- The price is still very attractive (especially compared to the cost of data volume from my provider).

Reliable Delivery & Service at a good price.
We have used Sakura Mobile's services five times now and recommend it. Their delivery (to hotel) /return (via return envelope at airport) service is smooth and timely. The quality of thier equipment and network has been flawless. We typically get their pocket-wifi and an battery charger (as they supply a large one that holds quite a bit of charge and we dont have to travel to japan w it in our luggage). I feel their rates are reasonable too.

It was my first visit to Japan and I am glad that in the end I chose Sakura mobile for my wifi router. Easy to pick up , easy to connect, easy to return and in logical price. I definitely recommend.

Data Sim + Voice (Physical Sim)

Would recommend for people staying for less than 1 year, since it was very easy to setup (no bank accounts required). The price was great especially when they increased the data package from 25GB to 30GB for the same price. Fairly reliable, only lost connection in areas where cellular signal was nonexistent.

I chose the one with a voice number so I could register my residency card and other documents easily and have stuff delivered. Unfortunately only the physical sim was compatible with my phone even if it could handle esims (do check the model of your Samsung phone before choosing your sim).
I do think they reuse numbers, as the number was used previously by someone else on LINE (easily remedied by changing profile).

All in all would definitely recommend.

I had been looking for a reasonable mobile service provider because Japanese monopolistic 3 main service was very expensive. I was recommended of Sakura by a German friend of mine back in 2015 and since then I have used Sakura. Back then the B data was limited but I was always under wifi area so didn't have a problem with data and now the data is like 30 GB for just 4,000+ which is extremely reasonable in Japan.. it's the best service I have had for a long time with no problem at all. Also the service is very fast and 24 hours online support and in English was a big plus for me. I would recommend Sakura mobile to locals as well at foreigner living in Japan. Very reasonable and never had connectivity issues anywhere. The only hind side is they don't provide roaming.

Very convenient for the amount of gb they offer! I think 40gb was one of the highest amounts i found while making my research and i also had a Japanese phone number so that I could make local calls. Also the option of an e-sim rather than a physical one was great. Moreover, when I first installed it I realized once I went out for the first time that my internet wasn’t working and luckily I was able to find my way to their office and they were very kind and helpful, considering I got there like 10 minutes before closing time 😅. They have english speaking workers, so I had no problems communicating my problems and they resolved everything in a matter of minutes!

Very great english customer service in Japan. You don't have to worry if you can't speak Japanese language.
All of the processes are in English and the technician that came to install the hardware are also understand a bit of English eventhough you can just leave them be and the work is done perfectly.
Very recommended.

Sakura Mobile were so easy to deal with and the internet connection was brilliant. Even when we had to leave to go back to our home country the process to return the equipment was very straightforward. I wish we had used them for our mobile phones too!

Sakura Mobile's mobile and fibre optic internet plans have been fantastic. Reliable super-high speed fibre internet at home has been excellent. The reception and call quality for the mobile plan met all my needs too. Their customer service for English speaking foreigners really helped too. Highly recommended for short-term tourists or longer-term residents.
